Jerry Sandusky filed an Amended Motion for New Trial on the Ground of
After-discovered Evidence and Request for Evidentiary Hearing in Centre County on February 8, 2023. This Amended Motion was filed based on the Expert Report of Dr. R. Christopher Barden which contains allegations concerning the concept of Recovered Repressed Memory which many of the alleged victims relied on as “junk science” and has been “debunked” by the FBI. Dr. Barden opines that essential information such as this and the concept of Confirmation Bias was never presented to the unformed, misinformed, misled jury. Dr. Barden further opines that a secret off-the-record Hilton Garden Inn meeting that took place between the trial judge, prosecutors, and defense attorney the night before Jerry Sandusky’s preliminary hearing produced a “likely-conviction-death-march” trial schedule that precluded Jerry Sandusky of any chance of a fair trial.
